Description:
Join TREX Artists Lindsey Bond & Heather Magusin on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 6-7 pm for an artist talk and Q&A panel. During this event, we will get to know our panellists through projects they have worked on as recent MA students as well as the work they have exhibited with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Traveling Exhibition Program (TREX). The conversation will pay special attention to the role of the camera and photographic images in their overall practices.

Lindsey Bond’s solo exhibition titled ‘Visiting with Memory’ draws on an archive of family photographs to explore a multitude of worlds; human and more-than-human, past, present and future, personal and cosmic. It begins with the story of a single-family and unfolds into a much larger conversation surrounding decolonization, human relationships, responsibility to one another and to the land we live on.

Heather Magusin’s photo series titled ‘CARBON’ is travelling as a solo exhibition featuring a series of photographs centred on the aftergrowth of wildfire sites in Boreal forests across Alberta. Each striking image presents the various stages of a fire’s vital role in the ecological life cycle of the Boreal Forest.

Both exhibits are currently on tour with the TREX travelling exhibition program and will be exhibited at a new venue in Alberta every month for a two-year term.
